St. Kabir School follows a set of underlying principles to make the teaching-learning process a truly enriching experience.

  • An emphasis on hands-on working experience to promote the ‘learning by doing’ methodology.
  • Extension of the learning process through activities like class plays, quizzes, debates and group discussions.
  • Departmentalization of subject teachers (with a Subject Head), to guide and ensure uniformity in handling the syllabus.
  • Project based learning and presentations to help the student delve deep into the subject and also create the stimulus to hone his expressive ability.
  • Periodical brain storming sessions among the various faculty members of the same subject and even across subjects, to foster an interdisciplinary approach,
  • The teaching of English as a subject on the one hand and a medium of instruction and communication on the other (a significant dimension in our curriculum planning).
  • Integrating the outside world and the text, to make the words on the page a meaningful experience.

Primary School

We have conceptualized a Programme with a clear focus on the needs of the children during the formative stages of their lives, where the passage from Kindergarten to Lower Primary, to the middle school and the higher secondary school is smooth and well chartered. A well-maintained teacher-student ratio supports individual attention. The study programme is complemented with a well equipped library, AV room and varied co-curricular actvities.

With a rich and deep foundation in the primary years, the eager and confident Kabirite anticipates the milestones of the GSEB X standard exam with pleasure. Emphasis on independent self study programmes and skills to acquire information facilitate the development of these transitional years. Class discussions and project based tasks help to hone the analytical and reasoning skills.
